{"id":113,"date":"2010-07-19T21:56:07","date_gmt":"2010-07-19T20:56:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nicholsons.me\/blog\/?p=5"},"modified":"2023-11-25T08:17:31","modified_gmt":"2023-11-25T08:17:31","slug":"our-first-post","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blab.nicholfield.me\/?p=113","title":{"rendered":"Our First Post!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hi all!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Laura and I are setting off on our biggest trip yet on Friday 30th July! &nbsp;We&#8217;ll be away for nearly 3 months and it will take us through China, Mongolia, Russia, Norway, Finland and a little bit of Denmark and The Netherlands. &nbsp;I&#8217;m leaving <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rocksteadyltd.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Rocksteady Studios<\/a> and have a new job at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.frontier.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Frontier Developments<\/a> in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitcambridge.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cambridge<\/a> starting in November. &nbsp;Laura has a sabbatical from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liftfestival.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LIFT<\/a> and will be going back afterwards but we&#8217;ll be moving to Cambridge and I&#8217;ll have a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.urbanfoodgarden.org\/main\/vegetable-patch-design\/vegetable-patch-design--defence.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">vegetable patch<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amongst other things I&#8217;ve spent the last few evenings (while Laura&#8217;s been busy with the LIFT festival &#8211; <a title=\"Haircuts By Children\" href=\"http:\/\/www.liftfestival.com\/events\/lift-2010\/lift-2010-programme\/haircuts-by-children-mammalian-diving-reflex\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">getting her hair &#8216;cut&#8217; by 8 year old children<\/a> and the like) putting together a map of our travels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ve been calling it Mega Trip 2010 so far but maybe The Kazakhstan Circular might be better?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a title=\"Mega Trip 2010 Map!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.google.co.uk\/maps\/ms?ie=UTF8&amp;hl=en&amp;msa=0&amp;msid=101990544923838072374.00048a012ff0e490242aa&amp;ll=47.754098,66.09375&amp;spn=136.714728,239.414063&amp;z=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Here is the map!<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;re going to be adding blog\/blab entries as we go along as it&#8217;ll be a lot easier for everyone than trying to make calls from crazy places!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Right, we&#8217;d better get packing&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ben and Laura<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hi all!<\/p>\n<p>Laura and I are setting off on our biggest trip yet on Friday 30th July!
